Data Availability, Code and Reproducibility Policy

Data Availability Statement

A Data Availability Statement is required in every manuscript under the heading "Data Availability," accurately describing whether and how the underlying data, code, materials, or other relevant resources can be accessed.

Acceptable Statements

• Openly available: in a repository, with a DOI or persistent link.
• Available upon reasonable request: with access conditions and a contact route.
• Subject to institutional or legal restrictions: with the restriction and, where possible, the access procedure explained.
• Cannot be shared because of privacy, consent, security, or ethical restrictions: with the reason explained and any shareable alternative materials identified.
• Secondary or public datasets: identified and cited, with access information provided.

Human Participant Data

Identifiable human participant data must not be deposited in an open repository. De-identified data may be shared only when consistent with consent, ethics approval, data-protection requirements, and applicable law.

Code and Materials

Where scientifically appropriate, authors are encouraged to share statistical code, model parameters, analysis scripts, GIS layers, processing workflows, and supplementary materials in a trusted repository or as supplementary files. Proprietary or restricted climate datasets are identified, with the access route described.

Reproducibility

Authors provide sufficient methodological detail to allow qualified researchers to understand, reproduce, or independently assess the analysis. Sharing data or code is encouraged but does not override privacy, confidentiality, security, intellectual-property, or contractual restrictions.
