Article Types

• Original Research: 4,000–6,000 words excluding abstract, references, tables and figure captions; structured abstract up to 250 words.
• Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses: 5,000–8,000 words; structured abstract up to 250 words; PRISMA 2020 reporting required where applicable, including checklist and flow diagram.
• Policy, Health Economics, Legal and Environmental Justice Analyses: 3,000–5,000 words; may not contain a measured climate variable but must present a substantive and central climate-health policy or systems link.
• Case Studies: 2,500–4,000 words, focused on climate-sensitive health events, programs, systems, or adaptation interventions, clearly distinguishing description from causal inference.
• Editorials, Commentaries and Perspectives: 1,000–2,500 words. May be invited or proposed and may undergo editorial assessment rather than external peer review when clearly identified as such.
• Letters to the Editor: 500–800 words, addressing material already published in the journal or a focused topic of clear relevance.

Reference and figure/table counts are guided by scientific need rather than an arbitrary ceiling.

Reporting Guidelines

Authors use the reporting guideline appropriate to the study design, where one exists: CONSORT for randomized trials, STROBE for observational studies, PRISMA 2020 for systematic reviews, COREQ for qualitative research, STARD for diagnostic accuracy studies, TRIPOD for prediction models, CHEERS for health economic evaluations, ARRIVE for animal research, and RECORD for studies using routinely collected health data. Use of a reporting guideline does not replace methodological judgment or ethical requirements.
